POKOTABI / Bar SPEC
Bar SPEC
Situated near Tokyo Station's Yaesu Exit, Bar SPEC pairs an extensive Japanese whisky selection with bespoke cocktails and craft gin in a calm, subdued setting.
01 / ABOUT THE PLACE
Tucked into a side street close to Tokyo Station's Yaesu Exit, Bar SPEC stands out for its well-curated lineup of Japanese whisky. Labels such as Ichiro's Malt, Saburomaru, and Chita appear among the offerings. Guests can share their preferred flavor profile or serving style, allowing the bartender to tailor a recommendation—an approachable way for both dedicated whisky enthusiasts and casual drinkers to find a glass that fits their taste.
Beyond whisky, the back bar features an eclectic collection of spirits and cocktails, including Kumamoto craft gin jin jin GIN, Kyoto's Ki No Bi, and the herbal digestif Underberg. Light accompaniments such as dried fruit, chocolate, and wasabi popcorn are available to nibble on alongside each pour, highlighting the aromas of the drinks.
Indirect lighting gives the interior a calm, understated atmosphere. The 1 floor features a counter with about 5 to 6 seats, while the 2 floor provides private rooms and group seating, accommodating everything from a quiet solo nightcap to drinks with colleagues. The bar is open Monday through Saturday from 18:00 to 23:30 and closed on Sundays, making it a convenient stop before boarding a Shinkansen bullet train or to wind down after a long day around Tokyo Station.
